There are some things in life a woman just can't live without.... magnificently hot sex, expensive makeup and hair products, high quality friends, and a stunning closet full of stylish clothing...OH, and did I forget to mention chocolate?!! I have several things that are absolute can't live without closet essentials. These items make those days of "I don't have anything to wear" an easy fix. An "essential" closet item isn't necessarily a trend piece, it is a piece of clothing that never goes out of style and can be easily paired with anything. The essentials are the "basics" of your closet. The essential clothing pieces are pieces that you hold onto the longest and have a hard time parting with when they just get completely worn out. SO.... Let's get back to the basics.....
*One of my favorite basic closet items is definitely one of my oldest closet items. The trustworthy......denim jacket. The denim jacket can be worn in all seasons.It looks great with skinnies, dresses, and rompers. It is so incredibly easy to throw on a denim jacket when you feel as if your outfit is missing something or needing a little extra touch. As a professional, I need more coverage sometimes and the denim jacket does just that and looks phenomenal while doing it. I have to say though I am not a fan of denim on denim...I will not wear a denim jacket with denim jeans... unless it's white denim jeans of course. So if you don't own a denim jacket because you think it is out of style, please rethink it and purchase yourself 1 maybe even 2.
*In my closet you will find a tank top in every color and in a lot of different prints. Tank tops can be worn with anything. I have so many blouses that are just too low cut to wear to work... SO.... I just throw on a tank underneath and my problem is solved. I also love to wear fitted tanks with pencil skirts and cardigans to work. This is a classic work outfit that has yet to go out of style. It looks professional and well put together. On the weekends I can throw on a tank top with a pair of jeans, shorts, or even workout pants and be comfortable, BUT still look good. The tank is versatile and inexpensive. Why not have one in every color?!
*The "little" black dress. WELL... it doesn't have to be black. I have several short little numbers in my closet for those last minute date nights. If it is cooler weather I may throw on tights and my denim jacket. The short "little" dress should be a staple piece in every females closet... It just doesn't go out of style.
* STILETTOS, PUMPS....... Of course I have a great pair of pumps in my closet.. Who am I kidding?....I have a closet full of pumps. Nude and black are MUST haves. They are timeless and sexy. High heels make us taller and make our legs look longer. They add sophistication, poise, and confidence. OH, and did I forget to mention that they make our butts look exceptional when we walk. Every woman should have a pair of sexy pumps in their closet.
*Cowboy boots... YES, Y'ALL heard me correct... Cowboy boots. Everyone should own a good pair or if you are like me a whole closet full. I'm a southern country girl so cowboy boots have been a staple in my wardrobe since I was old enough to even wear shoes. I love to wear a fancy pair of cowboy boots with a dress or skirt and when I'm being outdoorsy and the country girl that I am you can find me in a pair of well broken in cowboy boots and denim shorts. Y'all go out and buy yourselves some cowboy boots... I promise you won't regret it.
* Diamonds are a girls best friend ....Right? Unless you own a dog... Even if you do own a dog you should still have a pair of shiny studs, hoops, or pearl earrings. These are great to throw on with any outfit when you are in a hurry or when you feel like you just don't have anything to wear. It's easy, classy,timeless, and elegant. You don't have to be a jewelry lover to enjoy an ageless pair of earrings.
* The perfect fit pair of white skinnies. I enjoy a great pair of white skinnies, but sometimes they can be tricky and not so flattering, You must make sure the fit is perfect. My biggest tip for white skinnies is..... DO NOT WEAR THEM TOO TIGHT... AND get a pair of thicker white jeans so they are not see through. White jeans are so versatile. You can wear them in every season. The old saying is that you shouldn't wear white after Labor Day. Well, that is a thing of the past. I love to pair white skinnies with a peplum style top and some pointed toe stilettos. This look is so fresh and classy.
Alright ladies there are several items that SHOULD be in a woman's closet. These are just a few of MY can't live withouts.
